Cuts for Christ began years ago with a simple mission: provide free haircuts to people experiencing homelessness in Downtown Austin, Texas. What began with a haircut quickly became an opportunity to build relationships, share Scripture, pray, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As those Gospel conversations grew, so did the vision. After experiencing a powerful revival filled with Christian hip-hop worship, preaching, testimonies, and an altar call, the vision for taking Cuts for Christ beyond the chair became clear. Since 2021, Cuts for Christ has ministered at hundreds of outreaches and events, providing free haircuts while creating opportunities to share the Gospel with people from all walks of life.

What started with one licensed cosmetologist and a heart to serve has grown into a ministry involving barbers, stylists, students, family members, and others who want to use their God-given gifts to serve. Cuts for Christ has become an important part of a much larger vision: PSJ Christ’s Xtreme Harvest Ministries Inc.—People Sharing Jesus in the most Xtreme areas and communities.

PSJ exists to meet both physical and spiritual needs. Through free haircuts, food, community resources, worship, prayer, preaching, and the sharing of the Gospel, we strive to reach people where they are and point them toward Jesus Christ. Our goal is to impact communities, see lives transformed, and give people the opportunity to know the hope and new life found in Christ.

Today, PSJ serves in inner-city communities while traveling locally, throughout Texas, and across the nation to pursue this purpose and “cast the net” for lost souls. Our family serves alongside other ministries and organizations, while also planning and hosting our own outreaches in poverty-stricken communities, schools, and a juvenile facility.

A typical outreach may include free haircuts, free food, worship music featuring multiple genres, community resources, prayer, preaching, and an altar call. Everything is designed to meet needs physically while also creating opportunities to meet people spiritually through the Gospel. Many of these events are open to the public and promoted through social media and community flyers.

Over the years, PSJ has also been blessed with opportunities to preach the Gospel and witness thousands of people make decisions for Christ, along with many baptisms. We believe every one of those lives matters.

PSJ has also introduced the I-35 Corridor, expanding the vision and creating opportunities for others to use their own unique gifts and callings to serve communities throughout the corridor, particularly within the Triangle.

In our own community, our family has also started Friday Night Christ’s, a community church open to all walks of life. Through worship, prayer, baptisms, the sharing of the Gospel, and a message from Pastor Pablo Groves, it has become another way to create a place where people can encounter Jesus.

This is only the beginning.

PSJ Christ’s Xtreme Harvest Ministries is the result of a small idea, a heart stirred by Jesus, years of prayer, obedience to God’s calling, hard work, many tears, and a willingness to use the gifts God has given us. What began with a pair of clippers and a desire to serve has grown into a ministry reaching communities in many different ways.

We are excited to see what Jesus Christ has in store for PSJ Christ’s Xtreme Harvest Ministries, Cuts for Christ, the I-35 Corridor, Friday Night Christ’s, and every ministry and opportunity that comes from it.

All of this is only possible through Jesus Christ.
